I hate to be impatient...absence does make the heart grow fonder (or so they say)...

Wahoo! I always like the 'peek behind the creative curtain' and witnessing the development of a track. It's very interesting and illustrates some of the creative sweat that goes into the work BL pours into their music. It makes me appreciate their CDs all the more...

oh, and I love the drink references each month, Paul! clever...I'll raise my glass to that!

that link for the Kristin video about legwarmers--TOO DAMN FUNNY! Loved it!

hallo,

yes I am here. the aliens gave me back. still waiting for the return of my brain...

but this month we have a stellar issue of the club -- the original cassette recording of me trying to hammer out a tune, tossing out toss-off lyrics as I write my way through a song. it's a good song, bouncy and uptempo. unfortunately, it will be stripped of its bounce, its melody plundered to become what we know now as "this night." it's interesting to hear though, so check it out.

also have a neanderthall cover of "if I only had a brain." kind of a have-to-hear-it-to-believe-it thing.

cool pic of the band, onstage of our sold out, headlining night at the Fillmore, c 1998.

also a link to the most insane youtube parody ever. well, maybe not ever, but close. definitely. (legwarmers, anyone?)

shoot me an email if you didn't get the email.

p

haha hope you've had a nice trip with them !!

ok so thanks for sharing this crapy version of "all the rage", I like that, that's really interesting to hear the first recordings of new songs... and you've been right to change some "little" things about it to make it becomming "this night" !
"If I only had brain" (you'll get yours back soon, I'm sure) is... how can I say that ??? hmmm... suprising. It won't be one of my fav, but it's pretty funny.

and congrats for daring share one of the most stupid vid ever !! hehe you should have had a lot of fun doing it !!

I know I'm posting late, but "Always" is really awesome and feels very heartfelt. I like the lyrics about secrets.

If I only had a brain is really funny, nice cover choice ;).

Hey I managed to get the cash together to get back on track with the MP3 Club. Gotta say this month is awesome! I ADORE the old cassette recordings and the creative mix. 'If Only I Had A Briain' is a cracking track, given a similar bounce as 'My Favourite Part of Town', which I can't stop playing in my car and belting out my (appalling) voice to. 'Always' is the best track out of the bunch for me though. Has an air of Keane/Coldplay about it with, sounds alot like 'Lonely Boy', which is no bad thing.

I also really love that video of Black Hawk Down chopped to 'Ghost', really special. And, like SleepsWithAngels, I'm loving the drinks every month... might have to get a black lab drinking game on the go :D

PS, kudos to Kristing, the parody is awesome!

Yeah, I was casually wondering that myself, Ryan. Would love to have my year 2 CD in the car...while PA temps still allow for open window music crankin!

Ah man... you guys  Didn't realise my absence would be missed. Work and exams... you know the score, piles of crap that take up my time. Anyhoo... yeah was wondering about that too just having signed up n' all... also Paul, I couldn't find a link to get Year 3 in the shop... had to go via renewal?
