Feels like a smoke-laden bridge to a late night movie where a biker is riding down the long desert road.

I am less than thrilled with it in this incarnation...but that is what I love about the MP3 club...works in progress. Curious how this one will evolve.

Just realised how long it has been since I've been active round these parts... ekk...

As for Candlelight, the track is awesome. Loving all the textures to it, has some (vague) similarities to Gone for some reason... dunno :? One of my favourites from this year fo sure, definately a keeper and sounds good as it is to my ears! I've just heard the whispering for the third time and I'm trying desperately to pin down what exactly your saying lol... but that's not a criticism, sounds sooo good against the beat.

Lol sorry that was quite rambling... summary: I like, alot :D

Here is my vote: Take another swing at this one, Paul! There is something really good here. It may need a little tweak here and there, but it has a decent feel to it, good textures, nice imagery in the lyrics...the whispering adds a secret, desperate longing element that adds depth. The fun thing about it at this point is that it could evolve in a couple interesting, viable directions--a softer, somber lovesick ballad, an edgy, heartbroken track with bite, a shined up version of what it is now.

I like it...with a bit of polish I bet I'd love it.

I actually dig this one. It has a bit of a Killers vibe to it.... especially with the four on the floor vibe in the chorus, although on closer listen it's not actually four on the floor.... but anyway..... For some reason I hear Per Gessle (from Roxette) in the chorus too. That's a compliment because I think he's a great writer. (ducks as the stones fly).

No stones from me on that one Kris. Mr Gessel, especially on the HAVE A NICE DAY CD had some brilliant, albeit a bit sugary, lyrics.

Fan-freakin'-tastic! Great opening guitar riff. Heavy, gritty, sets great mood for the track. Like SleepsWithAngels put it, good imagery on the lyrics too. Then the harmonies come in on the chorus, building up to the whispered bridge. This track starts out wicked and just gets better. I'd love to hear this one beefed up for an album track. I think it's the best part of Volume 3 so far, keep the good stuff coming!

Really like Candlelight. Think that and Always are the strongest of the volume thus far. Would love to hear it cleaned up and put on an album.

I totally agree with all that has been said so far. Candlelight is an awesome track, the best of year 3 for the moment. I'd really love to hear it on the next album !!
Paul, promise you'll have some other pearls like this one for the months to come !!

I had the thought just now... with great tracks like this not making the final cut of STS, for example, it really does show just how consistently solid the material is from BL. I mean most bands would kill to make just one decent album, but looking at the whole back catalogue of 'Lab stuff there has not been one weak album. Including an experimental album, all of them are strong quality albums. While opinion is obviously divided in some cases as to slightly lesser tracks, even the material in the MP3OTM Club is of high standard...

Anyway, just thought I'd say... It is a credit to your writing, composition and talent that your songs are consistently high calibre. Sorry for the rambling

On the back of what you put out with the last MP3, are we gonna hear some tracks with some drum solos now

Haven't been round these 'ere parts for a while! The wrong side didn't really do anything for me. It has moments when I feel like I'm gonna start digging this in a second, but then it doesn't quite make it. Candlelight, on the other hand, with a little tweak and a clean would be as sexy as hell! I really hope it recieves a little bit of love, cause I think it'd be a very firm favourite. It kinda reminds me of like speeded up 'Horses', anybody else getting is, or am I just head mental?
