Foreshadow’s new single
In honor of Native American Heritage Day, I’m happy to announce the new single by Foreshadow, “Bring Them Home.”
This track is absolutely slamming, a compelling mix of Shadow’s inspirational flow, Lophiile’s lush beat, and the traditional singing that powers the hook. Check it out now at Foreshadow
This year I’ve had the pleasure of connecting deeply with this man. When Laurie Sargent asked me to be the primary mentor for the Billy Conway Artist Fund, I was thrilled. But getting to work with the fund’s first Native artist — Foreshadow — has been a revelation. As an artist, as a father, and as a mentor himself in his community, Shadow is an inspiration.
His resilience and the power of his voice is a tribute to underdogs everywhere. I’m exhilarated by his talent, hard work and coachability, and feel incredibly grateful to have been a part of his process this year.
“Bring Them Home” is the first single from Foreshadow’s upcoming EP, written for the eponymous documentary about the Blackfeet tribe’s historic effort to return bison to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. It’s a brilliant slice of indigenous hip hop, and a fitting tribute to Billy’s memory.
